Rhys Harper helps the Blues reclaim top spot

-

A brace from Rhys Harper (above) and a well-converted penalty by Oliver Bishop saw Burnham reclaim first place in the Combined Counties Premier Division North on Tuesday night.

The Blues knew they had to secure all three points against Harefield United if they were to take pole position once again, after Egham Town moved to the top after beating London Lions and near rivals Flackwell Heath took second place following their victory

against Hilltop on Saturday.

And Ben Murray’s men got off to an ideal start, leading 1-0 at the break thanks to the prolific Rhys Harper. He then helped double the Blues’ advantage after the interval, taking his tally of goals scored this season to eight.

Oliver Bishop made it 3-0 to Burnham, the final score, later in the game with a sweetly hit spot kick.

Next up for Burnham is an encounter with Wembley. They welcome the side to the 1878 Stadium this weekend.
