‘Braywick is the most logical location’

-

Jon Adams, Maidenhead United Footbal Club’s chief executive, said after the meeting: “We understand not everyone will support our relocation proposals.

“Braywick is however the most logical location to move to because it’s already an established location for community sport and leisure as is designated as Maidenhead’s strategic hub for indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

“It also benefits from being close to the town centre and associated transport infrastructure.

“Our ambition is to deliver a community stadium which meets the needs of our growing football and wellbeing programmes, whilst also supporting the needs of other sports clubs.

“Our proposals will deliver significant upgrades to the existing athletics track and public playing fields on the project site through the provision of two new astroturf pitches and a new athletics track with associated jumping and throwing facilities.

“We remain committed to working collaboratively with Maidenhead Rugby Club.

“Both of the new astroturf pitches will be available for their use on Sundays, providing them with access to high quality astroturf facilities for their junior members which will complement their existing astroturf main pitch.

“Detailed information about the stadium proposals is available at braywicksportshub.co.uk.”
