Bees stung by defeats

The Hull Seahawks and the Pitbulls of Bristol dealt the TSI World Bees two disappoint­ing defeats last weekend. A win over the Swindon Wildcats the previous weekend had boosted confidence in the Bees camp, however, Doug Sheppard’s side were too open in defence, losing Saturday’s game in Hull 6-3 before going down 5-4 in a tight encounter at the Slough Ice Arena against the Pitbulls on Sunday.

Stead and Galazzi spent some time off the ice for roughing and slashing penalties and the game switched in the Seahawks favour.

At 3-2 down, the Bees’ Brendon Walkom assisted Lindgren to make it 3-3 at 46.46 but their joy was short-lived.

Sunday, the Bees contribute­d a lot to an entertaini­ng fixture, with Vanya Antonov, Walkom, Galazzi and Lindgren on the scoresheet. The tie went to penalties, and with only Walkom managing to score for the Bees the 5-4 win went to the visitors.
