Maidenhead: Italian restaurant seeks licence

Each week, the Advertiser publishes public notices containing important information affecting the community you live in. These statutory notices help keep the wider public informed about key issues, from plans to develop a block of flats in your neighbourhood to an application by your local bar or pub to serve alcohol for longer.

This week’s public notices include an application for a premises licence for a new Neapolitan pizza restaurant in Maidenhead and plans to knock down a dilapidated building at St Mark’s Hospital.

Licensing

A pizza restaurant has applied for a premises licence at the Watermark scheme in Maidenhead town centre.

Knead Neapolitan Pizza is pledging to offer a taste of Italy with pizzas cooked from scratch from its new home at Unit A Trinity Place.

The eatery is seeking permission from Windsor and Maidenhead council to sell alcohol from 11.30am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.

The venue is also seeking permission to sell takeaway food.

Earlier this year the Advertiser spoke to husband and wife duo Simon and Olivia Perry, from Flackwell Heath, who described the opening of their new eatery as a ‘dream come true’.

The company has been predominantly mobile-based since it was founded in 2018 but has also been serving pizzas out of the Crafty Taproom kitchen in Marlow High Street.

Simon told the Advertiser: “This is going to be our first pizzeria and we are so excited. Having been mostly mobile-based, it’s going to present new challenges but we cannot wait to open our doors and realise a dream that has been years in the making.”

Planning

An application has been submitted to demolish a ‘dilapidated’ building at St Mark’s Hospital in Maidenhead.

NHS Property Services, owner of the site in St Mark’s Road, is looking to knock down Block 19.

A design and access statement said: “Block 19 is currently in a dilapidated state of repair, requiring immediate attention because it is becoming increasingly unsafe. There is no intention to erect anything in place of Block 19 once it has been removed from the site.”

The application added that part of the building currently contains asbestos and its demolition will not harm the other heritage assets located on the site.
