Tom Dean MBE was on hand to meet residents in Maidenhead town centre on Saturday afternoon ahead of the town’s Christmas lights switch-on.

Hundreds flocked to St

Ives Road for an actionpacked evening of celebration, performances and fireworks (see p18-19).

Festive stalls, entertainment and food and drink were on offer down the High Street, and at Shanly

Homes’ Waterside Quarter.

Moreover, from 4pm, double Olympic champion Tom Dean was at the development for a meet and greet with residents.

Jessica Nicholls, marketing manager at Sorbon Estates, the commercial arm of Shanly Homes, said: “It was great to see the town come together to celebrate the Christmas lights switchon and explore the wonderful festive market.

“The event brought a buzz and an amazing atmosphere to the whole area.

“This was felt throughout Waterside Quarter as locals of all ages stopped to pose with the Christmas tree located within the quarter.

“It was fantastic to see the sense of community that exists within Maidenhead as we brought the Christmas spirit to life.”
