Littlewick sit bottom after Denham defeat

Littlewick Green are sitting bottom of the Chilterns League Premiershi­p table after the first weekends, having lost by eight wickets to the early season pace setters, Denham.

Put in to bat first at Cheapside Lane, Green managed 145-8 with notable contributi­ons coming from wicket keeper Mike Duxbury (35), Nanda Devaiah (53no), and Paul Isherwood (25).

In reply, Denham required just four batsmen to reach their visitors’ total.

Chris Lupton accomplish­ed 36no, captain Ricky Butt notched nine, Faisal Mahmood Jr struck 66, and Prince Singh hit 21no as the side made 146-2 from 35.1 overs.

Holyport fell to a 32run defeat at Knotty Green on Saturday.

Having won the toss and elected to field first, Holyport restricted hosts Green to 225 all out with the best bowling coming from Shakeeb Khan (3-31).

With the bat, Holyport

started well with wicket keeper Ghulam Mirza scoring 45 runs, Mohammad Qasim tallying 22, and Razwan Hanif chalking up 31.

However, Thomas Patel (2-23) and Himanshu Patel’s (2-24) bowling thereafter was too hot to handle with Holyport finishing their 45 overs 193-9.

Elsewhere in the Premiershi­p, Pinkneys Green had a successful weekend beating The Lee by 41 runs and rising to third as a result.

Batting first on home soil, Green racked up a respectabl­e 186 all out with Ben Purchese knocking 65 runs and Jagjit Dhillon (49) achieving just shy of a half century.

Purchese (4-16) and Dhillon (3-24) were equally adept with the ball as The Lee were limited to 145 all out from 35.3 overs in their reply.

In Chilterns League Division One, Little Marlow sit pretty in second owed to a 24-run victory over Ruislip Victoria.

At the crease first on home turf, Marlow managed 235-5. Opening batsman and wicket keeper Anwar Mahmood struck 49, Farooq Hussain scored 36, and Umar Islam performed robustly to achieve

78no.

Fahad Ali (80) offered the best batting in the chase – with Sai Kiran (4-40) equally oppressive in his bowling – as Victoria obtained a respectabl­e 211-9 from their 45 overs.
