Rafeez takes 4-16 as Braywood claim four-wicket win over West Reading

A four-wicket win over West Reading has lifted Braywood up to fourth in the Chilterns League Championsh­ip.

Fielding first at Scours Lane, Braywood restricted Reading to 111 all out with the home side’s best batting coming from Usman Tariq (43no).

Kamran Rafeez took a mightily impressive 4-16 and Haseeb Muhammad supported well with 3-25 against the hosts.

In reply, Mudassar Yasin’s men managed 112-6 in 24.2 overs with notable contributi­ons coming from Nasser Satti (25), Arslan Yaseen (26), and Asam Raza (21no).

Unfortunat­ely, the Turnbull

Cricket Ground is still unplayable so it is likely Braywood’s clash with Emmbrook and Bearwood this weekend will be cancelled.

Holyport have moved into the top three in the Chilterns League Premiershi­p after a stellar 132-run win at Monks Risborough.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Aysin Khan’s side obtained 178-9 with Mohammad Qasim knocking a superb half century as opening batsman.

Mujahid Raza obtained 38 runs and Mustafa Raza accomplish­ed 24 later with a fair few of Holyport’s attackers succumbing to Nomaan Jameel’s (3-38) bowling.

However, Ali Raza (6-20) stole the show with the ball in his hands as Risborough managed 46 runs in their reply before being declared all out.

Holyport host Littlewick

Green this weekend.

Two mid-table sides clashed in the Premiershi­p on Saturday, with Littlewick Green claiming a four-wicket win over Wendover.

Electing to bat first on an unfamiliar track, Wendover racked up 212 runs before being declared all out with a tremendous effort coming from Charlie Barrett (84).

Green’s batting was a lot more consistent when they took to the crease as wicket keeper Mike Duxbury (69),

Ollie Smith (31), and captain Jack Mason-Apps (44no) recorded solid figures. After 41.5 overs, the side managed 213-6.

Little Marlow have climbed to the top of Chilterns League Division 1 after a 79-run triumph over Pinkneys Green 2nds. Away from home,

Marlow batted first and posted a defendable 188 runs before being dismissed. Indra Kiran (51) and Umar Islam (89) batted well while Anil Mirza (7-20) bowled exceptiona­lly in the first innings.

Green managed 109 runs in reply as Uzair Hassan picked up a robust 5-28 and disrupted many partnershi­ps. Little Marlow will look to continue their good run of form when they host Denham 2nds this weekend.
