Twins are Prized Apart

-

IDENTICAL twins Craig and Chris Bieszke aren’t often far from each other’s sides in Manchester – but they’re preparing to be Prized Apart to different countries for a new primetime BBC game show.

The event manager brothers, familiar faces on the city’s social scene, are about to take part in the Beeb’s new big money Saturday night show – which could see them win a £100,000 top cash prize.

But in order to win, the lads, who share a flat in Manchester, are to be separated for up to six weeks – with one in the London TV studios while the other must take part in a series of adventures in Morocco competing against ten other duos.

The lads, 32, had to decide first of all who was going to be the “adventurer” of the pair, and who would be the studio player on the Prized Apart show, which will be hosted by Emma Willis and Reggie Yates from June 13.

Craig laughs: “Naturally at first we both wanted to be the adventurers but when he heard the other had to answer questions I think we both knew if we had any chance of winning Chris would have to stay in the studio!

“I’m definitely more of the impulsive type, so for me it was perfect to be the adventurer. I do crazy stuff even in everyday life, just walking down the street is an adventure for me!”

Chris adds: “We first saw about the TV show on Twitter and thought it sounded really cool, we thought it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“The longest we’ve ever been apart is five weeks, but even then we’ve been able to keep in touch with each other, so it’s really strange to think of us being literally prised apart like this.”

The brothers, who grew up in Cheadle Hulme, have long got used to being mistaken for each other, although Craig is five minutes younger and apparently half an inch shorter than Chris!

But they reckon they won’t be able to count on that fabled “twintuition” to help them win the show.

Craig says: “We don’t really have that twin intuition thing, although we do tend to say the same things, or he’ll start singing a song after it’s in my head.”

If they do go on to win, the brothers say they would spend the money

@MENnewsdesk on a “good holiday, and treat friends and family”.

The TV show will see the “adventurers” compete in a set of physically and mentally challenging tasks in Morocco with Reggie Yates on hand – their aim is to stay in the competition as long as possible and avoid being sent home to the UK until the last episode.

The studio players remain in the UK, watching the week’s action unfold on a screen, and could find themselves answering make or break questions, posed by Emma Willis, to keep them and their partner in the competition and in the running for the prize. » See how the Bieszke twins get on on Prized Apart, starting on Saturday on BBC1 at 7pm.
