Summer treat ... sunshine, sandwiches and scones!

-

SUMMER was in full swing at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel at Manchester Piccadilly. Celebs came out dressed in their floral finery for an English country garden-themed summer party hosted by VIVA magazine.

Among the 100 guests were Hollyoaks actresses Jorgie Porter and Nicole-Barber Lane – who play Theresa and Myra McQueen in the Channel Four soap – former Coronation Street and Waterloo Road star Denise Welch and former X Factor contender Goldie Cheung.

Blonde Jorgie looked stunning in a summery white lace dress from American retailer Nasty Gal.

And she’ll be stepping out in blue for the Manchester Fashion Industry blue hues party at Restaurant Bar and Grill on John Dalton Street tomorrow night. She told us that her chosen dress for the fashion show and networking event will be rather ‘risqué’.

Guests tucked into an English summer picnicstyle buffet of salads and sandwiches with relishes and pickles with scones for dessert.

And they raised a glass to the sunny weather on the Sky Lounge terrace at the DoubleTree with Primrose and Marigold cocktails of vodka and rose lemonade, and blood orange and tequila with a hint of rosemary.

The second annual summer party followed last year’s successful Ibiza-themed bash.

DJs on the night, including VIVA editor Emma Wilkinson, were joined for their sets by a saxophone player.

Hilton sales manager Colette Sherry said: “It has been fantastic. We needed to top last year’s event and it has exceeded that this year.”
