TV star Sims looks to lead Wolves back to Wembley

-

ASHTON Sims aims to cement his cult-hero status amongst Warrington fans by leading the Wolves to Wembley this afternoon.

Warrington face Hull KR in the Challenge Cup semifinals at Leeds (12.45pm kick-off ), with Sims set to lead the fight for Wire.

The 30-year-old forward has been a big hit in his first season since arriving from the NRL, not least for being miked up for their quarter-final win over Leigh.

“I was worried about swearing,” he said. “I swear like a sailor at times so I think there was a bit left on the cutting room floor!

“But I was ultra impressed with what the BBC did with it. I didn’t think it’d turn out that well.

“It seems that everyone has taken to it really well. It was good for the fans to see that inner sanctum, so to speak, and what we do on the field. Hopefully they appreciate what we put our bodies through.”

Matty Russell is out injured and Ben Westwood begins a two-game ban.
