Ammies looking to get title bid back on track

- NON-LEAGUE By MICHAEL HALE

SALFORD City hope to reignite their National League North title hopes today after their defeat last week extended AFC Fylde’s lead at the top to 11 points.

They travel to Brackley Town, a side who are unbeaten in their last four outings, winning three of them.

Despite the Ammies’ strong home record, they might be glad to be playing away this weekend given the fact that Brackley have picked up more points on the road.

STOCKPORT COUNTY missed out on the chance to move into the playoffs but are still outside of the top five on goal difference alone.

They are in derby action against 12th placed CURZON ASHTON, who have picked up seven points from their last three outings.

FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER could leapfrog the Nash should they make it three league wins on the bounce at home to Tamworth.

STALYBRIDGE CELTIC haven’t played a league game since the February 18 as they look to cut the 15-point gap to safety at home against Darlington.

ALTRINCHAM are two points further adrift and make the trip to out-of-form Boston United.

MACCLESFIELD TOWN host fellow Conference side Tranmere Rovers in the first leg of the FA Trophy semifinals.

The Silkman beat their Birkenhead counterparts 4-2 at Moss Rose on New Year’s Day and a similar result could see them halfway to Wembley.
