Comic returns to his roots in stand-up show

-

SALFORD comedian Jason Manford has announced a brand new UK stand-up tour for 2018.

Muddle Class will feature a wealth of new material about Jason’s life, growing up working class but becoming more middle class the older he gets.

The show won’t be calling into Manchester, but local fans will be able to catch him at Stockport Plaza on February 2.

Jason said: “Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page, ‘it’s been ages since you’ve toured’. They were right, it was years ago. I’ve been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on TV 13 times a day!

“So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it’s changed over the years. How the world has changed and how my parents haven’t changed a bit! It’s going to be a great tour.”

Muddle Class follows Jason’s hugely successful 2013/4 First World Problems tour, which ran for 18 months, performing more than 200 sold-out shows.

Since then, Manford starred as Leo Bloom in the UK tour of Mel Brooks’ The Producers, and then in the starring role of Caractacus Potts in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

He also returned to the world of radio, hosting his popular three-hour live show on Absolute every Sunday morning.

After finishing Chitty in February, Jason went straight into hosting Sunday night TV game show Bigheads, which starts a six-week run on ITV1 this Sunday. He also presented the Olivier Awards and spent a week hosting The Nightly Show on ITV1.

Next month, Manford can also been seen guest starring in the new series of Benidorm (ITV1).

In what little spare time he has, he also runs Manford’s Comedy Club with his brother Colin, showcasing the best comedians of the moment.

Tickets for Muddle Class go on sale on Friday at 10am, priced £27.50 from www.jasonmanford. com/tour/ .

There’s also a Ticketmaster pre-sale that got under way yesterday.
