MARCUS Rashford will be pivotal to Jose Mourinho’s overhaul of United’s attack this summer.

The Reds boss is determined to add more firepower to his squad, with Antoine Griezmann his No.1 target.

But he could also bring in a more orthodox striker to support leading scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Everton’s Romelu Lukaku is one under consideration, but United are believed to have shown only tentative interest in the Belgian international.

Despite acknowledging the need for more options up front, Mourinho remains convinced Rashford will be a key figure at Old Trafford for years to come. That was true before the England international’s outstanding performance against Chelsea on Sunday.

But his goal and all round play in the 2-0 win against the Premier League leaders confirmed Mourinho’s faith in the 19-year-old.

The Wythenshawe teenager has been overshadowed by Ibrahimovic under Mourinho - often playing out wide - but has still played more Premier League football than any other teenager this term.

That is a measure of his manager’s belief in him - and the plan is to integrate him into a new-look attack next season, which United hope will include Griezmann.

Rashford, himself, has no concerns over his future.

He has let friends know he is perfectly happy with his situation at the club - particularly his meteoric rise in the space of little more than a year.
