THE owner of the region’s most expensive Airbnb property has promised to make changes after distressed neighbours complained about the noise.

The plush Heaton Park pad costs £1,800 per night but has drawn anger from neighbours over alleged noise late into the evening, including from the outdoor hot tub.

Kay Roscoe, 51, and husband, Steve, 48, live close to the house and had previously contacted Bury council about the noise problem and were asked by officials to keep a diary of incidents. Mrs Roscoe said yesterday: “If there are a couple of weekends where nothing happens then it seems like there isn’t a problem. It annoyed me last night, in particular, because my daughter couldn’t get to sleep and it’s not fair.

“She sleeps in a room at the back of the house and has had to move into the front room on a number of occasions to get any sleep and she is revising for her GCSEs at the moment.”

The owner of the property, in Prestwich, said he lives there during the week and it is only rented out at weekends. He now plans to stop people from using the outside area after 9.30pm and has removed the hot tub. He told the M.E.N.: “If there was a problem last night then it is the first I am hearing about it. We have a member of staff on site, so obviously someone wasn’t doing their job.

“We don’t take bookings from stag or hen parties because we don’t want the problems that they bring and I don’t want to annoy the neighbours.”

Mr Roscoe added: “I don’t want a business to fail, but that last night, and on other nights, is completely unacceptable behaviour. We don’t mind a party, that’s not an issue, but the people that stay there are only there for a couple of nights so they think it’s just a one-off, whereas for us it is a constant noise.”

Responding to these complaints, the owner has now promised to make changes to the house, and after this year no more bookings will be taken on a Sunday.

He said: “I don’t want to annoy anyone, it is the last thing I want, so as of today the hot tub has been removed and I can assure all neighbours that nobody will be using the outside space after 9.30pm. Anyone with any issues, please contact us.”
