Coupon website offered deals despite complaints

-

DESPITE the M.E.N. exposing Cheshire Meet and Greet last July, Groupon continued to offer their services into September.

It’s understood Groupon, a public company which offers coupon deals, felt there had been ‘insufficient complaints’ before then deciding to take the parking firm off its books.

However, the M.E.N. has found reviews on Groupon’s website which suggest there was a problem more than a year ago. Although there were some positive reviews, there were also the following from 11 and 12 months ago:

Yusuf D said: “They added 65 miles to my car, It was filthy and muddy outside. It was dirty and smelt of smoke inside. There was items (non car) like business stock in the boot, which they realised when I opened the boot to put the suitcases in. We waited over one hour after calling

them before we got our car.” Kirsty C added: “Nobody turned up to collect my car. I had to book something else last minute.”

While Jack M said: “They were difficult to find when we arrived at airport. Whilst on holiday I received 2 calls to ask me what car I drove as they couldn’t remember which car I had left with them.”

However, GREGG W gave a different view, adding: “Excellent service and punctual. Friendly staff.”

A Groupon spokesman said: “Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and after receiving some poor feedback we stopped promoting offers from Cheshire Meet and Greet in early September last year. We have not worked with them since. We hate it when customers are let down and are truly sorry to anyone that was affected.”
