M.E.N. celebrating Spirit of Manchester

-

AN M.E.N. supplement celebrating the spirit of the city has gone on sale, with all proceeds going to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

The special edition focuses on the love and bravery shown by the people of Greater Manchester following the devastating terror attack at the Arena after the Ariana Grande concert on May 22.

There are also further tributes to the 22 people who lost their lives and those who were injured.

In the days that followed the atrocity, Mancunians showed their incredible solidarity and togetherness.

The families of those killed in the attack said it was the support of the Manchester community that helped them cope with the tragedy.

The Spirit of Manchester edition includes the kind gestures and response from all over the world, as well as images of the incredible floral tributes left in St Ann’s Square.

There is also a poster-sized copy of the Tony Walsh poem This is the Place, which has become a symbol of the city’s defiance in the face of terror after it ran in the M.E.N. days after the attack.

And less than two weeks after the bomb, Ariana returned to the city to perform at the One Love Manchester benefit concert at Emirates Old Trafford, raising further funds for the charity appeal. Our special edition includes amazing images from the night, and quotes in support of Manchester from the musicians who took to the stage.

The Spirit of Manchester supplement costs £1 and can be purchased from shops or newsagents. All proceeds from the sale of the publication are being donated to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, which has been set up to support families affected by the bomb attack.
