Keeper Gunn flies out on loan to Canaries
CITY goalkeeper Angus Gunn will spend the 2017/18 on loan at Norwich City.
The England Under-21 international has joined back up with the club where he began his career as he looks to kick on in his career and get some competitive games under his belt.
Pep Guardiola was impressed by Gunn’s ability when he arrived at the club and quickly promoted him to the first team squad last season.
However, with no time on the pitch arising from that, the decision has been taken to send him out on loan to the Championship club.
Norwich bosses are delighted to have the player at their disposal for next season, especially given the connection his family have with the club.
Referencing Angus’s father Bryan, the club’s sporting director Stuart Webber told the club website: “He’s an unbelievably talented goalkeeper.
“It’s a name dear to the supporters’ hearts but we’re judging Angus on being Angus. We’re really excited to have him here.”
Norwich head coach Daniel Farke echoed that sentiment and expressed his expectation for the coming season.
“Angus is very highly-rated and a really talented goalkeeper,” he said.
“He’s brilliant with his feet as well as his hands and is tall too. We’re happy to have him here for the next season and are thankful to Manchester City for helping us with this deal. I’m looking forward to working with such a great talent.”
