THERE’S a huge pirate party coming to Levenshulme this Friday (August 18), where fancy dress is encouraged and rum punch will be flowing.

Hosted by Levenshulme Market, the event is offering prizes for the best dressed – including free food vouchers for the best pirate selfies shared to @levymarket.

The family-friendly event will start with a free kids’ party from 5.30pm to 7pm, where children of all ages are welcome to join in the fun, with pirate magic, dancing, prizes and games.

But it’s not just for kids – the pirate party will allow adults to channel their inner Jack Sparrow.

Taking over the entertainment from 7.30pm are Beatific DJs, a local duo who recently took part in the very first Levenshulme Pride celebrations over at the Klondyke Club.

Beatific will be playing out an eclectic mix of everything from house to soul, and indie to electronic to kick-off the weekend.

Some of the best names in the Manchester street food scene will be serving up amazing food, including The Blue Caribou Canteen, Nasi Lemak Manchester,

Mac Daddies, The Ottomen, Fritto Italian Street Food and What’s Your Beef.

The Buttery pop-up bar will also be serving special rum punch cocktails to keep pirates dancing till late, along with their usual selection of prosecco, wine and local craft beers.

Levenshulme Market is held every weekend from March to December in the heart of Levenshulme. Saturday markets boast more than 40 stalls and sell everything from street food, cocktails and craft beers to unique gifts, crafts and vintage fashion. They run every Saturday from 10am to 4pm, except on the third weekend of the month when the daytime market is replaced by a Friday Night Market.

See the full trader list at levymarket.com and keep up with all the news ahead of the night market on the Facebook event page.
