X factor’s Louisa is red hot on her debut at annual spectacula­r

X FACTOR pop princess Louisa Johnson had the crowd jumping with a scorching performanc­e at her first-ever Manchester Pride.

Louisa, who became the ITV1 singing show’s youngest ever winner in 2015 at the age of 17, sang feisty surprise covers of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You complete with impressive rap and Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself, adding a cheeky swear word at the end of the classic ballad.

Strutting the stage in a flame red mini dress, she also sang Unpredicta­ble, her duet with fellow Essex pop star Olly Murs. And she later returned to the main stage with dance group Clean Bandit for their disco-tastic hit Tears, dubbed I Will Survive for the 21st century.

Clean Bandit delighted Pridegoers with a greatest hits set that included Symphony, Come Over, Rockabye and a cover of the 90s dance classic U Sure Do by Strike. And they closed the electrifyi­ng set with their stirring anthem Rather Be.

Manchester boyband Yes Lad reminded the crowd of a young Take That as they showcased some energetic dance moves on the main stage. The lads, who were put together by Take That’s former manager Nigel MartinSmit­h, pumped out pop songs Walk Away and sparkling new single Something More as well as a smooth Jacksons medley including Michael Jackson’s PYT.

The boys delighted Pride crowd and brought to mind a certain other Manchester band who will make a guest appearance at Pride today. One reveller said: “Yes Lad remind me of Take That when they first started!”

Howard Donald, Gary Barlow and Mark Owen will appear at the annual festival celebratin­g the city’s LGBT culture introducin­g the stars of their new musical The Band. Five to Five, the band formed on BBC talent show Let it Shine to star in the new musical, will perform on the main stage on Sackville Street in the Gay Village.
