Pride stars rock the ‘swimsuit chic’ look

-

MANCHESTER Pride is the perfect excuse to don your most fabulous outfit.

And the music stars heading to perform at this year’s festival celebrating Manchester’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community certainly went to town with their style statements.

With sunny skies over Manchester for the Bank Holiday Big Weekend it was even more excuse for the stars to dare to bare and Pixie Lott even headed on to stage in her itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini!

Pixie told The Diary after her fabulous star turn on Friday night at Pride that the reason she looked like she’d stepped straight off a beach is because, well, she pretty much had. She said: “I just got back from holiday, I’ve literally just got straight off my flight and headed over here for the show I loved it.

“I pretty much got a bikini out of my suitcase and pulled on my jeans.”

Pixie delighted fans in the crowd with a highenergy performance backed by a male dance crew to a host of her biggest hits, including Boys and Girls and All About Tonight on Friday. And she loves Pride that much she returned on Saturday for a surprise appearance alongside DJ Anton Powers on the Gaydio dance stage. Also rocking what we’re now describing as swimsuit chic was Lisa Maffia.

The former So Solid Crew member was in dazzling form in her bright yellow cossie which she teamed with fishnet tights, black kinky boots and a rather fabulous yellow cape that she could sweep around her on stage.

And how about Ultra Nate’s sparkling silver bodysuit?

The Free singer emulated the spirit of the disco ball in her ensemble as she delighted fans on Saturday night with her pop anthems.

But it was Saturday headliner Example who rather summed up the mood of the weekend when he shouted to the crowds during his exhilarating set: “Can we do Manchester Pride every weekend?”
