Festival will put some Fizz into the weekend

SPARKLING WINE CORKS TO FLY AT ALTRINCHAM FOR FESTIVAL’S THIRD YEAR

PROSECCO, champagne and cava fans rejoice Altrincham’s Fizz Festival will return at the weekend with more sparkling wines than ever to sample.

Now in its third year, the Fizz Festival will return to Altrincham Town Hall over the weekend of November 18 and 19.

Ticket price includes a FREE tasting of ALL wines with organisers promising more than 80 will be available this year.

You can expect cava, prosecco and champagne on the menu, with winemakers from across the globe involved.

There will also be a food pop-up in the upstairs area, hosted by Herb and Spice who will have an array of ‘fizz-friendly’ food options.

Tickets, starting from £15, have already sold out for the Saturday 4pm to 7pm slot, but there is still availablil­ity for the noon to 3pm slot on Saturday, and for two sessions on the Sunday, 12noon to 3pm, and the 4pm to 6pm session which includes entrance to the Fizz Awards.

Ticket price includes a free tasting of all wines with no need to buy drinks tokens at the Market Street venue.

Exhibitors this year will including Skyfall, a “naturally blue” gran reserva premium sparkling wine from Spain, wines from Brazil showcasing their range of fizz producers, and English wine producers Hush Heath and Fox.

Organiser Janet Harrison, of Cracking Wine, says: “This is a fantastic opportunit­y to meet the people who grow and produce the wines. There are also huge discounts available should you like to buy a few bottles for Christmas with a Organiser Janet Harrison delivery service too, so you can leave your car at home.”

Three awards will be announced at the Fizz Awards at the finale of the festival on Sunday evening Best Champagne, Best Sparkling Wine UK and Best Sparking Wine Rest of the World.
