HEALTH-CONSCIOUS restaurant Love Thy Neighbour is opening its doors in Chorlton next month following its success in Liverpool.

The ‘Ibiza-cum-LA’ style restaurant will be opening on Wilbraham Road in December with plans for a Chester site to follow in early 2018.

Taking over the Palate wine bar, the second Love Thy Neighbour joint will seat up to 40 diners inside, expanding to an extra 15 outside come spring.

The original restaurant on Liverpool’s quirky Bold Street has become known for its healthy chickpea pancake brunch menu and wholesome Buddah Bowls, while the evening menu features a mix of healthy and indulgent dishes, from falafel to chicken wings.

Diners can expect plenty of vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian options, designed with input from an in-house nutritionist.

Cocktails including charcoalactivated black daiquiris sit alongside vegan wines and beers, turmeric lattes, pressed juices and smoothies on the drinks menu.

Andy Duckworth, creative director at Love Thy Neighbour, said: “Love Thy Neighbour really fits with the work professional’s health conscious mindset – those who love the gym, the yoga girls and those who want to look after themselves, but at the weekend, they want to let their inner anarchist go and come and enjoy small plates with some delicious cocktails, vegan wines and beers and some great music.

“We want to transport our customers back to the places they love to go on holiday like Ibiza, LA and beyond and we are thrilled to be bringing our concept to a new audience.”

The Chorlton restaurant will feature the same Instagram-worthy interior design as the Liverpool branch, with neon signage, living walls, whitewashed flooring and tattoo-designed plywood featuring the slogans Eat What You Love and Avocado is BAE.

Andy added: “We may have started life in Liverpool but we have always loved our neighbours here.

“I actually lived in Chorlton for a long time and always knew I wanted to do something here – Manchester has a great energy about it.”

The independent restaurant group stems from the growing Know Collection, whose CEO Steven Hesketh was recently named among the 42 under 42 business people to watch at the recent Insider Publication Awards in Manchester.
