Stars shine bright at top TV awards

-

STARS put on a bright and breezy show at the National Television Awards with fabulous gowns of all different lengths and colours. Celebs stepped out in all colours of the rainbow for a spectacular show on the red carpet at the TV social calendar event of the year.

Bold dresses and dapper suits turned heads at the O2 in London as our top telly stars went head to head for the public’s votes.

Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley, who plays pregnant Eva Price, sparkled in a silver floorlength gown embellished with gold stars.

And fellow Corrie beauty Lucy Fallon and Eccles girl Jorgie Porter wowed in figure-hugging black numbers.

Lucy, who won best serial drama performance for her role as Bethany Platt in the same category as Corrie legend Barbara Knox, and former Hollyoaks actress and I’m A Celebrity contestant Jorgie always know how to ramp up the glamour on these occasions and they certainly didn’t disappoint at the NTAs.

Stockport’s Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly also didn’t put a foot wrong in her stylish black gown. And former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, from Stockport, was a vision in bright orange in a flowing dress and statement black earrings.

Chadderton’s Suranne Jones, winner of best drama performance for her role as the vengeful Gemma Foster in Doctor Foster which picked up the gong for best drama, shared her beauty preparations ahead of the ceremony on her Instagram, wearing a glitter face mask while dressed down in a striped T-shirt under a black camisole dress.

And she opted for a chic black velvet suit with a white ruffled shirt for the ceremony.

Collecting her award she said: “It was a risk to make the second series because you loved the first so much because we didn’t want to disappoint you, so it means so much that you enjoyed it.”

Oldham’s finest Phillip Schofield, in the running to win best presenter, looked dapper on the red carpet in his dark blue suit, and Bolton boxer Amir Khan was all smiles in a blue suit and waistcoat after raising laughs and eyebrows with his antics on I’m A Celebrity last year including the controversial moment he decided to scoff strawberries and cream in secret when they were meant to be shared with his campmates.
