POLICE in Trafford had an eventful night.

From finding vulnerable missing people to chasing burglars and dealing with neighbour disputes, Monday was particularly busy for officers in the borough.

Details of some of the jobs police dealt with were posted on the GMP Trafford South Facebook page.

They listed a few key jobs officers were called to. Not all incidents were listed due to ‘sensitivity,’ they said.

Officers were called to Broadheath to reports of two cars driving erratically by ‘doing doughnuts.’

Police patrolled the area, but didn’t find the motorists responsible.

Officers were then called to south Trafford to reports of a ‘suicidal missing person.’

After a ‘fantastic, prompt’ team response, the vulnerable person was found and taken to hospital, officers said.

Police were also called to reports of shoplifting in Sale, with a large amount of alcohol was stolen from a store.

Then it was over to Timperley, where police were called to a crash. Those responsible didn’t stop at the scene.

Officers then attended a neighbourhood dispute in south Trafford. Enquiries are underway, the post added.

There were then reports of a burglary in Sale Moor – and two further assaults in Sale.

Police were scrambled to a burglary at a business in Ashton-on-Mersey, but missed the culprits by ‘minutes.’

It was then back to Broadheath where officers were called to reports of a ‘suspicious male.’

Officers searched the area and found a person in a kitchen in a nearby house. A man was arrested on suspicion of burglary following the incident.

Police were then called to Sale where an officer from the city centre team had asked for back-up. When they arrived, the officer was ‘safe and well.’

Officers were then called to Timperley to reports of a burglary. When the suspects ran away, colleagues from GMP Wythenshawe searched the area and traced the vehicle used in the burglary. Enquiries are ongoing. The post, put up at 7am on Tuesday, ended: “Overall a sterling effort by the team on what should have been a steady Monday night shift.

“Have a great day. Meanwhile, us night officers will be getting some sleep.”
