VALENTINE’S Day is nearly upon us, so it’s time to get planning. There’s plenty to keep you busy - from drive in cinemas to power ballad karaoke or a night at the opera. Valentine’s Day drive-in cinema Romantic classics including The Notebook, Dirty Dancing and The Bodyguard will be shown at a drive-in cinema coming to Salford in the run-up to Valentine’s Day. Film fans can park up and watch feel-good favourites on the world’s biggest mobile LED screen, being brought to the AJ Bell Stadium in Eccles by radio station Key 103. Manchester’s Iconic Drive In Cinema will also feature screenings of Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, Romeo and Juliet and Top Gun, along with family hits Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story. There will also be food and drink stalls on site to enjoy before the films.

Starring Cherie Bebe, Millie Dollar, Starla Bright, Helluva Hustler, Vivienne Lynsey and hosted by Jonathan Mayor, the event takes place on Sunday 11th February 2018 and is bound to give you and your date a few conversati­on topics. And maybe some ideas for later. Tickets are £9 if booked in advance, or £10 on the door. Doors at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm.

Love Bites is rock and roll karaoke with added big hair at Bierkeller. From 8-10pm, you can take on the likes of Journey, Jovi, Tyler, Houston, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, Prince, Richie, Seal, R Kelly, Bryan Adams, Def Leppard, Nickleback, Meat Loaf, Phil Collins and much more. Free blow up guitars and microphone­s will give you essential props as you become the ballad.

With strains from classic operas including The Barber of Seville, Aida, West Side Story and La Boheme, you and your date can brush up on your Bernstein and pontificat­e over Puccini. Stephen Bell conducts the Halle, joined by Sarah Fox (soprano) and Noah Stewart (tenor). Tickets are priced from £14 (Including booking fees).
