Faf believes Sale are ready for Sarries test

- RUGBY UNION

FAF de Klerk believes Sale Sharks will face the acid test of their credentials when high-flying Saracens visit the AJ Bell Stadium tomorrow night.

The Sharks will go into the game buoyed by last Saturday’s 13-9 win away at London Irish which lifted the club up into sixth place in the Premiership table.

However, Saracens will travel north in a rich vein of form themselves. Mark McCall’s men are up to second place in the table just two points behind leaders Exeter following last weekend’s 25-3 win over Newcastle.

Tomorrow’s match-up between two of the league’s most attacking sides is a mouth-watering prospect.

And Faf says the opportunity to test their mettle against the reigning European champions is one the Sharks are relishing.

“Friday against Saracens is going to be a massive test,” he told the Sale Sharks website.

“Playing at home for us is our fortress and we need to win there.

“We’re going to give it our all against them but they are going to up for it too and they are a very good side so it’s going to be a tight game.

“What we live for as sportsmen is to test ourselves against the best. That’s where you show your steel – you need to step your game up and earn your jersey.

“This is where you want to be and the guys you want to play against and we’re definitely going to be up for it.
