John and Anita Joyce are quids in -they got their travel insurance for less than half the price they had been quoted for a trip to see the family in America. "We were planning a month-long trip to the States for our grandson Eero's first birthday," says Anita from Knaresborough in North Yorkshire.

"I knew travel insurance would be more expensive than for trips in Europe as medical costs are high in America.

"But when I got quoted £250 from an insurer a friend recommended I thought that was a bit high, especially as we are both in good health."
