PICTURED: MUM FOUND STABBED TO DEATH IN FLAT
MUM-OF-THREE DANIELLE, 24, DIED AFTER ATTACK AT FLAT IN ANCOATS
THIS is the first image of a mother who was stabbed to death during an attack at a flat in Ancoats.
Mum-of-three Danielle Richardson, 24, from Oldham, died from multiple stab wounds following an incident at the Shush Apartments on Tuesday.
Detectives have launched a murder investigation and are still working to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remained under arrest while receiving treatment in hospital.
Before Ms Richardson was found dead, witnesses reported seeing a ‘bloodsoaked’ man leaping from the apartments, on Swan Street, during the morning rush hour.
He jumped from a second-storey window and landed on a Hyundai i30, which was being parked up by a family, at around 7.40am.
The man attacked those inside the car, punching a woman in the face before running off towards Thompson Street.
He then smashed the window of a BMW before assaulting the woman inside.
Greater Manchester Police say three people were attacked.
Officers arrived and pinned a man to the ground before arresting him.
The police then went to the Shush Apartments flat and found Ms Richardson dead.
A Home Office post-mortem confirmed she died from multiple stab wounds.
Forensics officers were seen scouring the flat and the streets below for evidence.
A police cordon remained in place around the building yesterday.
Senior Investigating Officer Andy Butterworth, of GMP’s Major Incident team, said: “This was a horrific attack on an innocent woman and we have a team of specialist officers supporting her family at what is understandably a very difficult time.
“Our investigation is currently ongoing and a scene remains in place on Swan Street so you will see officers in the area.
“I would continue to urge anyone with any information to please get in touch so that we can continue to build a picture of what happened yesterday morning.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference number 327 of February 13.
Reports can also be made to Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111.
