Belle Vue’s Ace night to mark anniversary
BELLE Vue Speedway turns 90 this year, and the club is preparing to celebrate that milestone tonight with a memorable evening of competitive racing and motorcycling masterclasses.
The cornerstone of the event is the prestigious Peter Craven Memorial, which features some of the most exciting riders competing in the world today.
Last year’s world champion Jason Doyle headlines the field, with British No.1 Craig Cook, six-time Danish champion Niels-Kristian Iversen and world No.7 Matej Zagar joining him centre stage.
A host of other talented and familiar names will be hot on their heels for glory, including former GP stars Kenneth Bjerre and Troy Batchelor, and brand-new Belle Vue Aces captain Steve Worrall.
In addition to the main meeting, a host of other motorcycling disciplines will take to the track.
The popular vintage and upright classes, the famous ‘Men in Black’ and youngsters from the British Youth programme will all feature tonight.
Director of Speedway Mark Lemon said: “It’s a very exciting time for Belle Vue Speedway. The historic significance of this club, not just in Britain but across the world, is absolutely tremendous and I’m truly honoured to be a part of it.”
Gates open from 5pm at the National Speedway Stadium. Tickets are on sale at bellevueaces.co.uk.
