Helen tells of her ‘hilarious’ exit from the Street
PREGNANT STAR DUE TO QUIT SHOW AS ROSIE WEBSTER
PREGNANT Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has talked about her departure from the soap. The Bury actress, who is expecting her second child with footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair, has filmed her final scenes as bubbly Rosie Webster before taking maternity leave.
Speaking on the ITV1 chat show Loose Women, the soap favourite, who is eight months pregnant, says the exit scenes are hilarious.
She told host Andrea McLean: “Well, I’m going out in kind of very much a Rosie style, so it is hilarious, the storyline. It is really, really funny.
“But I really enjoy that about my character. Doing the comedy, I have really enjoyed that.”
Helen, 27, originally left Corrie in 2012 and went on to appear on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! as well as Celebrity Super Spa and Celebrity Wedding Planner.
She gave birth to daughter Matilda in 2015 and returned to Weatherfield as Rosie in February last year in comical scenes which saw the model and sister Sophie, played by Brooke Vincent, unwittingly used as drugs mules.
After proving to be a hit with viewers, Corrie confirmed that Helen’s contract on the soap, which was due to expire at the end of 2017, had been extended into 2018.
In December she announced the happy news that she and Celtic FC player Scott were expecting their second child and opened up about the tough time she had been having so far during her pregnancy.
She revealed to OK! Magazine that she had suffered with hyperemesis gravidarum, the same severe morning sickness that the Duchess of Cambridge has battled with. And she was rushed to hospital over fears of an ectopic pregnancy, a complication in pregnancy in which the embryo implants itself outside of the womb, but she’d actually got a water infection. Instagramming a photo of herself backstage at Loose Women in a smart green blazer and pink Chanel espadrilles, she said: “Looking forward to being on @loosewomen this lunch time talking about being a working mummy, my second pregnancy and my maternity leave on Coronation Street.” She was reunited on the show with panellist Linda Robson who was one of Helen’s famous campmates on I’m A Celebrity.
