Eight ar­rests over £1m drugs haul

EIGHT men have been ar­rested af­ter po­lice re­cov­ered £1mil­lion worth of Class A drugs in Rochdale.

Of­fi­cers car­ried out dawn raids in Rochdale, Lan­cashire, West Yorkshire and Stafford­shire as part of an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into drug sup­ply in Rochdale.

Dur­ing the course of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, po­lice re­cov­ered 14kg of Class A drugs, with an es­ti­mated street value of £1m.

They also re­cov­ered £80,000 in cash.

The eight men, aged 21 to 37, were in cus­tody af­ter be­ing ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of con­spir­acy to sup­ply class A drugs. Greater Manch­ester Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing to make en­quiries into the possession and dis­tri­bu­tion of con­trolled drugs.
