One new face in latest line-up at town hall
STOCKPORT’S leading Labour group has revealed its cabinet line-up for 2018/19.
Heatons North councillor Alex Ganotis continues as portfolio holder for finance and leader of the council, with cabinet member for adult social care, Wendy Wild, as deputy leader.
Edgeley and Cheadle Heath councillor Sheila Bailey will remain cabinet member for communities and housing.
Reddish North councillor Kate Butler will keep hold of the economy and regeneration portfolio, while Heatons South councillor Dean Fitzpatrick remains in charge of education.
There will be one new face to join the executive – Davenport and Cale Green councillor Elise Wilson – who replaces Heatons North councillor David Sedgwick in charge of reform and governance.
Heatons South councillor Colin Foster will remain portfolio holder for children and family, and Tom McGee will oversee health.
The changes will take effect after the annual council meeting on May 22, when the new mayor Walter Brett, Labour councillor for Reddish South, will be ushered in. Bredbury Green and Romiley councillor Lisa Smart will become deputy mayor.
