One new face in lat­est line-up at town hall

STOCK­PORT’S lead­ing Labour group has re­vealed its cab­i­net line-up for 2018/19.

Heatons North coun­cil­lor Alex Gan­otis con­tin­ues as port­fo­lio holder for fi­nance and leader of the coun­cil, with cab­i­net mem­ber for adult so­cial care, Wendy Wild, as deputy leader.

Edge­ley and Chea­dle Heath coun­cil­lor Sheila Bai­ley will re­main cab­i­net mem­ber for com­mu­ni­ties and hous­ing.

Red­dish North coun­cil­lor Kate But­ler will keep hold of the econ­omy and re­gen­er­a­tion port­fo­lio, while Heatons South coun­cil­lor Dean Fitz­patrick re­mains in charge of ed­u­ca­tion.

There will be one new face to join the ex­ec­u­tive – Daven­port and Cale Green coun­cil­lor Elise Wil­son – who re­places Heatons North coun­cil­lor David Sedg­wick in charge of re­form and gover­nance.

Heatons South coun­cil­lor Colin Fos­ter will re­main port­fo­lio holder for chil­dren and fam­ily, and Tom McGee will over­see health.

The changes will take ef­fect af­ter the an­nual coun­cil meet­ing on May 22, when the new mayor Wal­ter Brett, Labour coun­cil­lor for Red­dish South, will be ush­ered in. Bred­bury Green and Romi­ley coun­cil­lor Lisa Smart will be­come deputy mayor.
