Jorginho’s set to make Blues move

Manchester Evening News - - CITY SPECIAL -

JORGINHO will sign for City as soon as a fee can be agreed with Napoli.

The Italian international is Pep Guardiola’s top midfield target in his search for a longterm successor to Fernandinho this summer.

Napoli are holding out for as much as £60m for the 26-year-old – but City will try to agree a price closer to £50m. And with the Premier League champions Jorginho’s preferred choice, his agent says a move to the Etihad will be a formality.

“At this time Jorginho is still under contract, but if Napoli is in agreement with City, the player goes to Manchester,” Joao Santos told CalcioNapoli24 LIVE. “Finding an agreement with the English will not be a problem considering the importance of the team.

“But I repeat that it will depend on the decisions of Napoli as the player is tied to them for two more years.”

M.E.N. Sport revealed on Tuesday that Jorginho considered City the natural choice if comes to the Premier League.

Santos added: “City are champions of England and one of the top European clubs.

“If Napoli and City find a solution, we will talk about it. Otherwise the player will be happy in Naples.

“I hope to hear from the directors and maybe in the next few days we will be in Napoli to talk about it.”
