Swinton ace Tyson eases fears after bad knock

- RUGBY LEAGUE By TOM BRAMWELL

SWINTON centre George Tyson has confirmed he did not suffer a serious injury in the Lions’ defeat to Halifax at Heywood Road on Sunday.

Play was halted for 16 minutes while the former Oldham player received treatment for what appeared to be a nasty knock.

However, Tyson took to Twitter to ease concerns for his health.

“Letting everyone know nothing too serious, just going to be in pain for a couple of weeks I’m guessing,” he wrote.

Stuart Littler’s side also lost centre Chris Hankinson to a suspected concussion and he will be required to pass the relevant protocols if he is to feature in the trip to London this weekend.

Meanwhile, Warrington Wolves halfback Tyrone Roberts will return to his native Australia at the end of the current Betfred Super League season.

After a slow start to his time with the club, Roberts has impressed in recent weeks, most notably in the Challenge Cup victory over Wigan Warriors.

But with his family struggling to settle in the area, the 27-year-old has opted to cut short his stay with the Wire.

“It’s just unfortunate that his family is homesick,” said Warrington boss Steve Price.

“One thing I’m sure about with Tyrone is that he is fully committed to the Warrington Wolves for the rest of the year.

“He has outlined to me personally that he’s determined to leave in a successful manner.”
