Airport zone misleading

-

I WAS disgusted to learn that Manchester Airport is charging £3 to £4 for drop-offs. I thought, ok, I’ll pay I have no choice but I decided to look at the airport website. It explains that the charge is due to the congestion and so would like people to drop off in the free zone or somewhere else, basically kicking the congestion down the road away from the terminal.

Well that’s fine but at least make it a free drop-off zone to enable the congestion to be somewhere else. The fact they haven’t proves one thing, they want more money and it has nothing to do with congestion.

I have used Terminal 3 a few times and suggest the congestion outside the airport is ridiculously bad due to pathetic oversight in planning and design.

The same goes for the inside of the terminal which, when busy, well you just don’t know what line to be in and who is lining up for which flight as the lines of people all seem to merge.

However, my gripe is that the website says you can drop people off at the free drop-off zone, which in my friend’s case, when he needed Terminal 3 was JetPark 1.

They sat and waited at the bus stop for the free shuttle bus but something felt wrong so I went back and waited with them.

The bus came and the driver said the buses are only for pre-booked parking.

I explained what the website said and he agreed and said there have been many complaints. As the bus was mainly empty and he was going to Terminal 3 he could have at least taken them as it’s Manchester Airport’s fault we were there in the first place but maybe Manchester Airport could remove the misleading information on the fictitious free drop-off zone from their website.

On principle I parked a distance away and dropped my friends off, leaving them about a three-minute walk. There’s one lot of £4 you’re not getting. A. Mann
