As part of these searches two men – aged 20 and 21 – were arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been released under investigation.

Det Con Leanne Gibb, from GMP’s city of Manchester division, said: “We understand that McGovern has been seen recently on the Lightbowne Estate in Moston by local residents.

“I urge anyone with any information on his whereabouts to contact the police so he can be prosecuted for the offences he has committed.”
