Airport staff set for strike
MANCHESTER Airport security staff could take strike action over the summer - depending on the outcome of crunch talks today. Here’s what you’re saying on our Facebook page.
■ When I fly from Malaga there is one security point for the whole airport with half the staff of Manchester. You are processed quickly and professionally. Manchester is a joke, even when not busy it can take almost an hour and that’s with fast track. It’s unnecessarily stressful and extremely slow, the checks seem overly excessive and not reciprocated in other European airports. I just don’t understand the issues at Manchester airport.

■ Travelling a lot with work recently and particularly to Paris CDG. Manchester needs to sort out the security farce and go and learn from others.

■ In my view the real concerning thing here is that the airport has chosen a period immediately prior to summer to start reviewing and altering staff rosters. Why do it and in such a controversial way approaching one of the airport’s peak times? Just poor business sense if you ask me.

■ Worst airport in the world. The whole place looks a right mess. Every time I go through security they some how manage to make it worse than the last time. And getting back into the country is a joke at passport control.
