Taxi drivers charging £3 to drop you off at airport
I’m a private hire driver also and the fares are discounted enough without us having to fork out the £3 charge, it wouldn’t be worth us doing the journey! Just Manchester Airport trying to pass the blame on ripping people off!

I’m a private hire taxi driver, and I have not applied for the discount card because I may not get my money back on it. It’s £30, a lot of paperwork, and I believe an up to date CRB is required, which is also
costly. Then I’d only get 40% off! Some months I may only go to the airport once or twice. So yes, I will be adding the £3 onto the fare if the customer chooses to be dropped off at the terminal. Sorry not sorry.

Why shouldn’t taxi drivers add the charge on to the fare price? They aren’t the ones using the airport, but bringing people in. I don’t agree with the charge in the first place... But any driver should be asking the person they are dropping off for the charge fee. It’s only fair, why should they make a loss just for doing me a favour?

The answer to just drive yourself and pay for parking or get the tram.
