Airport is like the rest of us
AS controversial drop-off charges at Manchester Airport come into force, airport bosses have been accused of ‘getting every last penny from passengers’.
Isn’t this much what many drivers do - to save every millisecond, and earn every last penny - when they break speed limits; swerve across lanes; jump red lights; accelerate as though they’re in a race; park on footpaths and double yellow lines to access cash machines; use mobile phones etc, etc, etc.
Do airport bosses pay every employee – from toilet cleaner to pilot, and security guard to air traffic controller – a decent wage?
Isn’t baggage weight carefully calculated to save fuel and keep costs down? What do drivers do to keep road policing/maintenance and NHS costs down?
And what price monitoring every single passenger, to keep Britain safe from terrorists and the likes of drug smugglers?
Also, isn’t flying the safest way to travel?
Because of lawless drivers some five people a day are killed on our roads.
If everyone drove with care and courtesy, and never committed a ‘foul’ e.g. broke speed limits, and worked together like the England football team, (as do air traffic controllers, pilots etc) to minimise casualties, congestion, road rage and blood pressure, how much happier, healthier, and wealthier might we ALL be?
In short, lawless drivers are driving up costs for every single person, from premature babies to prison staff, not to mention heat waves and hurricanes.
Don’t victims of lawless drivers suffer much the same as victims of terrorists?
