Man suffers head injury in street attack

POLICE have taped-off a street on a Cheetham Hill estate after a man was attacked.

The victim was taken to hospital with a head injury after the assault.

Officers were first called to Dolman Walk to reports of an attack shortly before 6pm on Thursday and then cordoned off an area close to Rygate Walk.

Forensics teams in white suits were seen walking in and out of a property backing onto Rygate Walk, with a GMP van and two cars parked nearby.

The man’s injuries are not thought to be lifethreatening. The cordon remained in place across a stretch of road behind some terraced properties on Thursday.
