Second burglar term

HATTON GARDEN burglar Danny Jones has been sentenced for an attempted £40 million raid.

The bid took place five years before the 2015 Hatton Garden heist. Last year, Jones, 63, pleaded guilty to burgling Chatila jewellery store in Old Bond Street, Mayfair, where he failed to drill into a safe. Jones was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment at Southwark Crown Court yesterday, which will run concurrently to the seven-year jail term he is already serving for the Hatton Garden raid.
