Police appeal after shots fired at house

-

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after gunshots were fired outside a house in Bolton.

Officers were called to Tattersall Avenue, on the Johnson Fold estate, just before midnight on Wednesday.

Nobody was injured during the incident. Investigators attended and found evidence of a firearms discharge.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with further information to get in touch, while police patrols are being increased in the area.

Det Insp Ian Partington, of GMP’s Bolton borough, said: “I understand incidents like this will cause concern in the community. However, I want to reassure local residents that we have a team of officers working to find those responsible.

“Thankfully nobody was injured but, as we all know when firearms are involved, it could easily have been a different story. People may notice an increased police presence in the surrounding area and I would encourage anyone who feels they have information to please approach one of our officers.”

Police can also be contacted on 0161 856 5757.
