Future up in the air as Oleks linked with move

OLEKSANDR Zinchenko admits he does not know what the future holds for him at City.

The youngster has been linked with a move away from the Premier League champions this summer as he looks to establish himself with regular football.

Zinchenko made 14 appearances for the club last season as he helped to cover the absence of Benjamin Mendy by filling in as a makeshift left-back.

The Ukrainian international looked solid despite playing out of his favoured position – and he still sees himself as a natural attacking midfielder.

Wolves and Fulham are monitoring his situation, and the youngster admits he does not know what the future holds for him.

“To be honest I am ready for anything,” he said at a pre-match press conference.

“Of course you want to play, you want to play even more. You want to show everyone your quality.

“So we will see what happens in the future.”

Pep Guardiola is in no rush to sell Zinchenko this summer and he even named the youngster as a candidate to fill in at central midfield having missed out on the signing of Jorginho.

“We will decide until the last day,” said Guardiola.

“We have Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan who can play in this position, and Aleks (Zinchenko) can also play there.

“There is also Fabian Delph, and we have one or two young guys.”
