It’s Katie, so it is

-

FIRST-LOOK photos show Coronation Street legend Jim McDonald reunited with the daughter he thought was dead. Jim, played by Charlie Lawson, is pictured with Katie, played by Australian actress Hannah Ellis Ryan, in spoiler pictures of the shocking upcoming storyline.

It was revealed that Jim would be returning to the famous cobbles with a pretty woman in tow, but his ex-wife Liz is set for a huge shock when it turns out to be Katie who they were told died soon after being born prematurely.

Actress Hannah was dressed in a sunny yellow dress with floral detail – and a large red flower in her brunette hair worn in a plait.

And her on-screen dad, set to be released from prison after being jailed for armed robbery back in 2011, was dressed smartly in a blue three-piece suit with a red rose in his lapel to coordinate with his daughter. The pair appeared to be getting along famously as they exchanged a hug.

Former Rovers Return landlady Liz, played by Beverley Callard, has twin sons with Jim, Andy and Steve, born in 1974, and Katie was born on New Year’s Day 1992, two years after the family arrived on the street.

Now the family will have to come to terms with the fact that Katie didn’t die following a mix-up at the hospital.

In emotional scenes it will be revealed that she was adopted by a couple who moved to Australia.

Charlie, 58, and Bev, 61, were previously spotted filming at the Church of St Mary the Virgin on Church Lane in Prestwich and fans will have to wait and see if one of Corrie’s most iconic couples will be reunited.

Northern Ireland-born Charlie quit the cobbles after 11 years as Jim, known for his catchphrase ‘so it is,’ in 2000 but returned in 2010.

He left in 2011 as Jim was jailed for trying to rob a building society so wife Liz could buy the muchloved pub.

Charlie briefly played Jim again in 2014, with the character seen menacing recovering alcoholic Peter Barlow in jail.
