Storm Callum ready to blow in

Manchester Evening News - - NEWS -

HANG on to your hats this weekend Greater Manchester is expecting gusts of wind of up to 40mph along with spells of heavy rain.

It comes as the west of the country prepares to be battered by Storm Callum. But despite strong winds and rain, it’s expected to stay unseasonably warm, with temperatures of around 21 degrees tomorrow.

Bonnie Diamond from the Met Office said: “Manchester escapes the worst of it, but it will be windy.

“Tomorrow will be another wet and windy day. Not in the warning zones but still rather grey, miserable breezy and blustery.

“You will still need your jacket and an umbrella if you’re out and about.” Other parts of the north west have been issued with yellow weather warning for rain. Wales meanwhile, will bear the brunt of the storm, with a month’s rainfall expected in a day.
