THE £375 BOTTLE OF GIN

- By DAISY JACKSON

IF you’re stuck for what to buy the gin lover in your life for Christmas, Manchester Gin might well have the perfect solution - but only if you’ve got a few hundred quid burning a hole in your pocket. The award-winning local gin brand, which produces its botanical range of spirits in Manchester city centre, has just released a jeroboam.

For those unfamiliar, it’s essentially a giant bottle, usually filled with wine - and about twice the size of a magnum.

Manchester Gin have filled their jeroboams with both their signature gin and their raspberry-infused pink gin.

It works out to four and a half litres of gin, or the equivalent of NINE standard bottles.

The brand was created just a few short years ago by couple Jen Wiggins and Seb Heeley, and in that time they’ve gone on to win plenty of gold awards at industry events, as well as welcoming a baby boy into the world.

They have four products these days, with the herb-infused Wild Spirit and a strong Overboard gin that comes in at 57% ABV.

Earlier this year they launched new branding, with a honeycomb pattern moulded into each glass bottle to complement the worker bee in their logo.

Manchester Gin is now sold in Harvey Nichols, Marks & Spencer, Booths and local Spanish deli Lunya, to name a few - though the jeroboam of gin is only available in a few select locations and online.

The 4.5 litre bottle retails at £375 through manchestergin.co.uk
