Man arrested after guns seized during drugs raid on house
GUNS were seized following a drugs raid at a house.
Officers used a battering ram to smash their way inside the property on Reins Lee Road in Ashton-underLyne yesterday.
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs. He remained in custody. Police also discovered a number of air rifles at the house which were examined by specialist firearms officers.
GMP Tameside North posted on Facebook: “This morning a drugs warrant was conducted by the Ashton Waterloo team on Reins Lee Road after receiving intelligence regarding drugs and firearms.
“A male at the address was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug (Class A) and was taken to Ashton Police Station to await interview. During the search a number of air rifles were also discovered. GMP firearms officers attended the address to make sure the rifles were safe.”
