Hammer thugs threaten boy, six

A BOY of six was threatened with a hammer during a terrifying robbery outside a KFC.

The youngster and his dad were walking to their car after leaving the fast food restaurant on Huddersfie­ld Road, Oldham, when they were targeted by two masked thugs, police said.

One of the men threatened the 40-year-old and his son with a hammer, demanding he hand over his car keys.

Terrified for their safety, he did as he was told, and the two men got in the vehicle and drove off.

Police were called to the KFC at around 9.30pm. The vehicle was recovered on Ribble Road, Oldham, several hours later.

A number of items were from the car including the victim’s laptop.

The robbers are described as white, between 5ft 10in and 6ft and in their early 20s.
