Woman critical after flats fall

A WOMAN who fell from an apartment block in Manchester’s Green Quarter is still fighting for her life in hospital, police have said.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to Cypress Place, off Red Bank, at around 2.40pm on Wednesday. The woman, understood to be in her 30s, was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary having suffered serious injuries.

A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said the woman remains in hospital in a critical condition.

A large number of police and ambulance vehicles were seen at the scene of the incident.

A big section of grassland outside the apartment block was taped off by officers following the incident.
