Tears in my eyes at loss of punk great

- Graham Jones, Salford

THE news of Pete Shelley’s death is very, very sad. Like everyone else, I am shocked and gutted. Tears are in my eyes as I type this.

Deep condolences to all Pete’s family and friends and bandmates.

Buzzcocks were one of the best. Every time I saw them they were great. Pete was one of the funniest, sharpest, most brilliant of the ’76 generation – a genius.

The songs from the early days sound as great now as when they came out.

Pete’s music changed my life and made it infinitely better.

The amazing comments being made just prove how much of an inspiration Pete was throughout the music industry.

Pete, you will always be present in our lives, and when we put a vinyl or our playlist plays Buzzcocks, you will be with us.

RIP Pete Shelley.
